Thursday December 27th 1928 I slept very well last night. More mail this morning. Busy about the house in AM and wrote Emma Herriott, Lydia & Edith Mason. I took the letters to the PO soon after dinner. Hattie here in the afternoon. Cora came for her. A letter from Laura Mason. Friday December 28th 1928 I wrote Birdie, L D L, Joe Williams & Cousin Jen. A returned letter to me signifies that Sciota Lape is dead. I took the letters to PO and went to Anna Kleims rooms. Wrote Alice Condon in evening & read. Saturday December 29th 1928 I had a letter from Emma Herriott telling all about her Fathers last illness and one from Edith Mason told of the funeral in Delavan. The Byingtons and Hattie drive to Davenport this AM. She stopped here. I went up town before supper, was at Anna Kleims. I wrote Edith Mason and Emma Herriott. Sunday December 30th 1928 Ott took me to church and back. At two oclock I went to Charlie Fosters funeral. Rob was one of the Bearers so while her went to the cemetery Hattie stayed here with me. I wrote to Winnie and took it to the office and on up to the store. William & Mary brought me home. I read awhile and doctored myself up and went to bed. In addition to my cold I have sore teeth. A nice winter day.
