Wednesday January 14th 1925 I was down town a little white. Wrote Hattie. After noon was at the Library and Science reading room. I rested till supper time and read all evening. No mail today. Weather cooler Thursday January 15th 1925 I was in my room part of the forenoon. Wrote Lydia. Went down town after dinner. Later Mrs Falk and Mrs Lowe came. They brought me a letter from Josephine Esker and Hattie who told me that Aunt Sarah had died in Detroit and was to be taken to Springfield Mo for burial. Band concert night. Friday January 16th 1925 I went to Dr [Borghouse?] for a treatment this morning. I find the family are from Burlington and knew my friends there. I rested till dinner time. I wrote to Fannie. Spent the afternoon with Mrs Pickens. Evening on the porch. Weather like summer Saturday January 17th 1925 I went up to Major Lowes, after going to the P O to mail letters to Lydia and Charlie Taylor. Had lunch there and Mrs Lowe brought me home. This is the evening for The Printers Banquet at the LaSalle, Chicago. Sunday January 18th 1925 To the M. E. for SS and Presbyterian church The Folks and their friends with Mrs Lowe ate dinner here. I read and slept awhile. Then went down to hear the band play. Evening on the porch delightful.
