Tuesday January 5th 1926 Mother would have been a hundred years old today. It is a month today since I got here. I went to the City for lunch. Then to see "The Merry Widow" and later to Dr Emerys office to have that ugly scar taken from my nose. Came home by street car with Ott. Wednesday January 6th 1926 I did not get up very early. I wrote Bro Ott and Mr Mitchell at BelAir Maryland. I went down town soon after lunch. To Dr Emerys office and then up to 7th St. Wrote Lydia. Maime came on for me. Thursday January 7th 1926 Busy in the AM. Wrote notes to Mattie Stitt, Belle Murray & Roxie Robeneau. I went down town in PM. Had letter from Hattie. Came home with Ott on car. A year ago today started to Florida, supper in Chicago with McCalls. Friday January 8th 1926 I wrote to Mrs Maxfield, Nellie and Edith in AM. My face swollen and rather painful. Went down to Dr in afternoon. They put a poultice on it. Maime came for us. Letters from Mary, Tishie, and a Mr Anderson at Bloomfield Iowa. January 9th 1926 I went over the house in AM. A delightful day. Wrote Aunt Emma, Cora and Mr Anderson. I laid down in PM. I cant do much with this plaster on my face. Maime and I had supper. Will Kee came home with Ott. Sunday January 10th 1926 The folks busy about the place till ten oclock. Will Kee came out and went with us over to Emilys. Late home. I have been very uncomfortable with this place on my nose.
