Thursday, February 23, 1865. Today had a pleasant trip up the White River. Nothing to be seen along the shore only a continuous line of trees the whol country being flooded by the rise of the river. Reading all day first in the Bible & then Fr Rev', only stopping a while to walk on the hurricane deck for exercise. Reached Charles City and have to stay here all night
