Sunday, March 5, 1865. Another Sabbath on the river. Am getting very tired of it. Read my Bible all the morning. At noon stopped to wood at a pretty little island. Went on shore & felt the bliss of terra firma again. Passed Helena in the evening. Sat long in the Pilot House listening to the queer stories of a queer old lady. Not very profitable.
