Monday, March 6, 1865. In Memphis bright and early. Found Miss C - had arrived been sent to [Gayord]. Miss Bray also waiting for orders. But to me the twenty letters in waiting were the most pleasant part, but best of all the one from Pa saying that he had received his appointment and would go to N- soon I did thank God fervently that our prayers were answerd. We never trust in vain.
