Friday, March 17, 1865. Had a very nice day on the steamer with Col' & Mrs Clendening. After dark when we reached Keokuk. Found Mrs Trall and the "wee ones" glad to see "Aunt Mary" again. One of the most windy days I ever knew. Many homes unroffed. What a pleasure to be in Iowa again If I can only reach home tomorrow. The thought makes my heart beat gladly
