Monday, March 20, 1865. Daylight found me on the train homeward bound. Mr Tracy & Judge sat in the seat with me Before nine A.M. I was walking rapidly [accrous] the Campus when whom should I meet but Jenni She turned & went back with me. Ma & Charlie saw me & met me at the gate. Such happiness to be at home again Several calls from the neighbors, but wanted to enjoy being at home with only the dear home friends.
