Wednesday, March 22, 1865. A mixture of rain and snow today, but have not time to sit still & enjoy myself any longer. Went through the rain to town & made some purchases, and then set about sewing in good earnest. Our friends are very kind and offer their help. I'm sure I ought to be grateful. We have too much company to expect help from Ma & she wont let me work for her & Jennie must study. So we move.
