Saturday, April 1, 1865. Arrived in Keokuk in good time found Mrs V- and the wee ones well. Looking for Mrs W-. Call from the Hanford girls Busy sewing and talking with Mrs V nearly all day. Night and no Mrs W- all much disappointed. How I wish I had spent the Sabbath at home, as I gain nothing by coming. But there may he a providence in it. My guide orders all these things.
