Friday, April 7, 1865. As soon as it was light enough stole over to No. 14. Knocked at the girls door & woke them. They welcomed me with delight. Went to Pa's room, & was soon folded to his loving heart. He could hardly keep back the tears of joy and I was troubled in the same way. How delightful the breakfast with "us four & no more". Capt I, Dr F- & all the rest welcomed me, how sincerely I've no idea. The girls will go. Thank God! Pa is sad but willing.
