Sunday, April 9, 1865. A day of constant rain, but happily spent with Father Libbie, & Manda. Father preached in the dining room & we went. It seemed like old times. A nice little note from Charlie after service which I gladly answerd. Capt S- very kind all the time but queer. Lacks Christianity and the principle he ought to have & trifles with sacred things. How Pa towers above him in all goodness!
