Thursday, April 20, 1865. A slow dull rain today that prevented the girls from going sightseeing. Mr Sanford very kindly lent us his horse & buggy, and we visited the ladies of Columbia Hospital. Never had a nicer ride though it rained all the time. I can hardly believe I am in this city where I have so often longed to be.
