Sunday, April 30, I865. One of the best Sabbaths I have known in the Com' work. Went early to Colored S. School with Misses C & M - taught classes. Then to church. The service pleasant. The Lord raised up friends for us in the person of Chaplain & Mrs Porter. With the latter went to the hospitals & went from cot to cot, talking to the sick & wounded of Jesus and his great love to us. Some promised to turn to the Lord & believers thanked us for coming, but our reward was in our own hearts.
