Monday, May 1, 1865. This day has passed pleasantly writing to the loved ones. We now feel that it was well our faith was so sorely tried, for we all feel stronger love and confidence in God than before. At home it is still cold, but here roses have been blooming for weeks & this evening we had strawberries for tea. We find kindness on every hand. Chaplain P- let us have the money we needed. Our trust was not in vain.
