Saturday, May 6, 1865. Oppressively warm. Went with the girls through the wards and ministered to the wants of the sufferers, and were more than rewarded by their blessings Sat up late at night hemming handkerchiefs for the sick men. The girls feel that they have a wide field for work, & every effort is appreciated If they only keep well in this sultry climate!
