Monday, May 8, 1865. on the Atlantic Afraid to eat anything all day for fear of the sickness returning. Sat on the guards nearly all day looking down in the deep blue sea - watching the play of the porpoises, & flying fish. A day that called out trust and confidence in God. Talked some with Mrs Brewer & found her much more pleasant than I supposed at W-
