Thursday, May 17, 1865. Went shopping early with Miss Fowler. At eleven Mr Sandfort took me to the Depot. Found to my joy Mr Lawrence going on the same train. Miss Dire sat near us. Scenery entranceing all the way. In Philadelphia soon after four. Mrs W- & Mr B- met & welcomed us at the depot. Long talk with Mrs W- then Mr Smith came & we went with him to Mr B's and spent a pleasant eve. Talked till after midnight.
