MONDAY, MAY 29, 1865. Sick, sick, sick! Had a miserable nigh, tossing with fever, and the wildest fancies filling my brain. Did not sleep till long after midnight. Could not go to see the Iowa Regiments as we had hoped this morning. While I lay in bed Miss Fowler kindly read "Aurora Leigh" to me. Letter from father. Find it hard to be sick when there is so much to be done. Everybody very kind to me.
