Thursday, June 8, 1865. Awoke early and saw the girls off. Then read my Bible till breakfast time. After breakfast a nice talk with Mr W Went with Mr & Mrs J- & Miss F- to the Review of the 6th Army Corps. Messrs W. & S- joined us. Stood near the Treas building & saw the troops coming up Penn Ave. Then opposite the White House and saw the President & many Generals & most of the Cabinet. Evening devoted to reading Aurora Leigh. Am better, but very weak & soon tire.
