Tuesday, June 13, 1865. Visited Campbell & Mt Pleasant, & had a long earnest talk with the ladies. Hope it was not in vain. Afternoon Lieut Hope called & a hard rain came on & he remained. Mr S_ sent for us to ride to supper. Messrs S & W_ came at dark & spent the evening Miss F_ sang and played, and then we had a sensible profitable talk & disbanded.
