Wednesday, June 21, 1865. Sorely tried with Mrs Cole and Howe Spent most of the day writing. Evening H.P.S came for us, called at Mt Pleasant, thence through Harewood grounds, to Soldiers Home & Presidents summer residence All very fine. Sang "Neares my God to thee" on the way home, & never enjoyed anything of the kind more.
