Saturday, June 24, 1865. W- arrived this morning walked home with us and had a good talk. Called at Mr J's and left the 6.00. How badly cold some folks would be if they knew it. Eve' Messrs S- W called. After some singing, enjoyed Mrs Coles benevolence. W gave me a note telling what I have long known but dared not pretend to know. A little sad at the knowledge.
