Wednesday, July 5, 1865. Miss F- & I went with Mrs C- in her carriage to do some shopping. P.M. to Mt Pleasant for a short time. Then to Alexandria. Found Manda & Mrs McQ at work. Had a most delightful evening reading and talking together. The moments passed rapidly and almost before we knew it, it was late bed-time. Soon such hours will come at home.
