Saturday, July 15, 1865. With Mrs L- Mattie Manda, Misses Murphy & Billings & Mr Walcott visited to Capitol and tarried long before the fine paintings in the Rotunda. Then to the Congressional Gardens. P.M. Visited the Treasury Buildings and then sat on lawn in Lafayette Square. Eve' Mr W- spent with us, and enjoyed it all the more because I knew it would not often be repeated. O! these charming days.
