Monday, August 7, I865. Up early, and very happy from a sense of the near presence of the Redeemer. Washing done before noon. Letters from Pa' & Mrs Porter. P.M wrote till 3 o'clock, then to the Bank & church Settled some bills for Ma & called at Mollie Kibbens. On reaching home found Jennie & Kellie had arrived. Eve' all spent in talking & no reading or writing today. Did a little at the carpet
