Saturday, August 12, 1865. Up very early & to market. After breakfast baked bread, pies & cakes. A good deal for me to do. Letters from Messrs Walcott & Burke. The latter too bad. With Laura & Carrie made several calls & dined at Mr Cahhills. Called at Bro' W-s on my return. Home & sewed till tea time. Talked all the twilight with Kellie & Jennie. Everything seems to favor our proposed Festival for the Orphans Home.
