Thursday, August 24, 1865. Did my ironing early. Then to the carpet sewing & kept at it, only stopping to get dinner. Mrs Worthington & Mrs Hopkins called, & made to us a pleasant visit. With Jennie went to the train again but no Amanda. Did some shopping & came home Began after nine and wrote a long letter to Bro Joe'. Exceedingly tired hut have not been working hard. Letters from Mrs P- & Bro Joe'.
