Friday, August 25, 1865. Most of the day spent at the carpet sewing. Paper from Mattie announced Mary Humberts death. One of our number gone. Soon we will all be with her. Went to the cars again, but again disappointed. Jennie & I solaced ourselves with a dish of icecream, then made two calls & home. Eve sewing. No time for Bible reading today, but remembered & kept my hour of prayer.
