Thursday, August 31, 1865. This has been a day of real toil. Manda and I papered the sitting-room, and it took us nearly all day. Tonight almost too tired to enjoy anything but could not resist the sweet influence of the lovely moon-light that flooded the earth. Last day of a most profitable month. Good letter from Father. The college term has opened and with it old memories come.
