Monday, October 2, 1865. We all went to Conference & had a pleasant forenoon, but our hearts sank when Pa' was read out for Chilecothe. God knows what is best for us. Came home with a heavy heart & went to bed nearly sick. Got up at 4. to go to Miss McDowell to tea. On the way met Pa coming home. We came back & had a happy evening together. How good it seemed to hear that dear voice in prayer again
