Wednesday, October 11, 1865. A day of considerable leisure. Wrote a letter & read two chapters in Locke besides the housework before dinner. P.M read in the Hawkeye for an hour. Then to my room & Bible Called at Mrs Briggs & Mrs Fallers. Sewed and talked with Manda till tea-time Then to prayer - meeting. Few there but a very good meeting. New desires to be faithful in efforts to save souls.
