Friday, October 13, 1865. A dark gloomy day. Called at Mrs Briggs a moment. Father bid us good-by and went to the circuit. Nellie came and stayed to dinner. She and Manda both enjoyed her little visit. Feeling very unwell and went to bed & slept more than an hour. Deeply interested in the wretchedness of the poor as portrayed by A.L. Finished it this evening.
