Monday, October 23, 1865. Blue Monday has not proved so very blue for once. When about half done the washing Charlie F- came bringing me letters from "bro Joe" Mattie & Tishie the latter contained quite a God-send for which I am grateful. Awoke with a spirit of consecration this A.M. and have felt it all day. Bible reading and prayer unusually precious O! the goodness of God!
