Wednesday, October 25, 1865. This A.M had a most direct answer to prayer. Busy with the dinner preparations when a telegram came from Tishie, and things look still more encourageing. Wrote my application, a letter to Tishie & one to Mrs Darwin, and took them to the office. P.M finished my letter to Mrs. H- & wrote to Hattie M. Eve Jennie read aloud to us & we had a merry time. Rained just at dark so we couldn't go to prayer-meeting.
