Friday, November 10, 1865. Up at five and soon off to the train. Pleasant ride home. Took them all by surprise. Forenoon spent helping Mother. P.M Mrs C- & Maggie visited us. Sewing on Jennies dress till tea-time. After the company was gone had a pleasant talk with Capt' W- Charlie full of fun as usual, and Ma and Jennie in good spirits, so the evening passed very pleasantly. No place like home
