Wednesday, December 27, 1865. Went shopping in the A.M, made a number of purchases, and a call on Mollie I. P.M reading to the family again. Laura G_ came to tea & afterward we spent more than an hour trying to learn to skate. The moonlight was fine, ice ditto, but we did not do much skating. Reading again till very late. How the time is going & it seems we have only been at home a day.
