Friday February 1st 1924 Wrote to Hattie in forenoon and we went in town soon after dinner. Stopped for Mrs Lowe. I took she and Mrs Falk to the picture show. There was a shower but did not delay us. A letter from Rob and Ida. Read in evening. Saturday February 2nd 1924 I wrote to Ott in the forenoon about business matters and sent Idas letter which told of operation on her nose. We went to town both forenoon and afternoon. I was at the library and got me some shoes and stockings. Sunday February 3rd 1924 A beautiful day. We went to S S and I to The Presbyterian church today. We had dinner as usual. A letter from Hattie with clippings tells Harveys brother Edward committed suicide on account of his Mothers death. I wrote Ida The Boswell family and Lydia. Then read some. Monday February 4th 1924 Was busy all forenoon. Did some reading. Mrs Falk and I went to town in PM. I was at the library. Had a letter from Ott with bank statement and the word that Walter McGivens had been killed by a train when on the track near his home. There was a hard rain after we got home. I went to bed early. Tuesday February 5th 1924 Read Iowa City papers and wrote to Mattie Stitt and Tishie Hedges. Mr Falk away for the day. We went to town and to a picture show. Had a letter from Lizzie Lindley. She sent slipping that our friend Mrs Stevenson was dead.
