Thursday August 7th 1924
I was busy up stairs all AM. We went over to Hatties
to spend the day and visit with Birdie. After supper
LeGrand took Fannie & me for a ride to Cedar Rapids.
Friday August 8th 1924
Another hard rain this morning. I made some tatting
and wrote to Mattie Fletcher, Ida and Lydia. We rode
awhile in afternoon and after supper. Weather pleasant.
Saturday August 9th 1924
Fannie had Birdie and The Whetstones here for the
day. We rode to town late in PM. I had letter from Lydia.
We rode after supper. Ott got home at 9.30 tonight. Fine day.
Sunday August 10th 1924
LeGrand took me to The M E Church and later I
went with The Byingtons to The Red Bull Inn for dinner.
We rode some both in afternoon and evening.
Monday August 11th 1924
Fannie & LeGrand started to Des Moines at 8.30. I
busy in my room. Went to Cedar Rapids with The
Whetstones in afternoon. Home at 8.30. Wrote Lizzie & Cousin Jen.
Tuesday August 12th 1924
Rob came for me in AM. Spent the day at Hattie with
The Shultz. Clara brought me home. Will Bremner here for
supper. The Whetstones called and took him to the Station.
Wednesday August 13th 1924
Walked to town. Rob sent me up to Hatties. They brought
me home. Fannie & LeGrand came at 4.30. After supper
we all went to Kaluna to take Ott & Edward Rate.
