Saturday October 25th 1924 Slept well in the berth. I found Robert Showers on the train in the morning. Ott met me. I put my things away and visited with Fannie till noon. Wrote Lydia. I went with Ott & Fannie to the foot ball game in afternoon. The crowd was wonderful. Such a perfect day. I walked up town after it was over. Sunday October 26th 1924 I went to S S and church with Ott. The Whetstones with Mrs Davis and Blanche called before we finished dinner. Later I went with Ott and Fannie for a long ride down to Washington. Spent the evening writing in this book. Monday October 27th 1924 Emma was here sewing for Fannie. I walked to town in forenoon past the old house. Rode back to town after dinner with Ott to get things for a dress I hoped Emma could do for me. Evening at home. Wrote Lydia. Tuesday October 28th 1924 Hattie, Cora, her Mother and Blanche here for the day. A fine visit. I went home with them to supper and we all went to hear "May Robson" in "Some thing tells me good." Wednesday October 29th 1924 Harry Mason called on long distance about nine oclock to tell me their Mother died this morning. Poor Vene her life is ended. I rode to town with Fannie in AM. Went back in a bus after dinner. Was at Aunt Emmas and out to the cemetery. Rob brought me home. Letter from Laura. Mrs Falk & Ruby. Wrote Warner, Birdie & Lydia.
