Lemon filling for cake Grate peel from 1 lemon & squeeze out juice 1/2 cup hot water boil with the above 5 minutes strain, then add 1/2 cup of sugar with 1 small tablespoon of corn starch mixed with it & pinch of salt & small piece of butter rubbed in Boil until clear with juice & peel & hot water. Cool partly then add 1 well beaten egg & heat thoroughly but do not boil. Good
