Tuesday February 8th 1916 I wrote Fannie early and later saw in the paper that her uncle W.P. [Hepburn?] was dead. I then wrote to Cora. I was writing most of forenoon. I knit in afternoon and read some in the evening. Wednesday February 9th 1916 Weather fine today. I ironed most of forenoon and went up town in afternoon. I called at Alice Crenshaws and later at Mrs. Shorts and to see Lizzie Duncan. Thursday February 10th 1916 Was home all day. Busy with fancy work I had a letter from Fannie she and Ott went to Clarinda today to attend Mr Hepburns funeral. Will up town this afternoon to call at Crenshaws to see Mrs Lou Strong Bradish from Atlanta. A letter from Sue & Sallie Reed. Friday February 11th 1916 Lydias birthday. I went over to Coswells for flowers for her. She was sick in bed all day. I wrote some notes home in regard to having the house ready as we expect to go home Monday. I went up town in afternoon and to see Lizzie Duncan Saturday February 12th 1916 I was busy with a piece of fancy work I wanted to get done for Vene before I left. Lorna came home this evening she helped her Mother with the wash and we all visited together. Lydia is some better but not out of bed.
