Friday August 4th 1916 I swept and cleaned up stairs and baked cake. The heat after the rain is stifling. I went to town at 1:15 and to a picture show. I did not get home till 4:40. I made fruit salad and did some extra work after supper. Saturday August 5th 1916 I got my work done up early. Hattie and Mrs Falk came out for the day. a pleasant visit. Rob came after then in the new car. he has traded for. Evening on the porch. Sunday August 6th 1916 I wrote Lizzie Lindley. Did some reading and slept two hours in afternoon. After early supper went down to Hatties had pleasant visit with she and Mrs Falk. They brought me home. The girls did not get home tonight. Monday August 7th 1916 I went to town in forenoon. Afternoon I fixed my an old white dress skirt and washed it out. weather warm. Tuesday August 8th 1916 I was busy all forenoon and went down at 1:15 to visit with Mrs Falk as Hattie was obliged to go to town on committee work. Home at 5:30. On the porch all evening. Wednesday August 9th 1916 I went to town at 8:15. I had an engagement to have my feet cared for. done at 10:30. I slept in afternoon. Jeff brought the girls home late in afternoon. After supper they went down to Woolfs to call and on to town awhile. They got back at 9:40 and we all went to bed. They were tired.
