Tuesday October 10th 1916 Lizzie and I left after an early dinner to find rs Bennett and had a pleasant call and went away out farther to find a Mrs Jona Reed that Effie had told us about. Did not find her. We then went down to the depot to see about trains and on The Blue Line Taxi out to Summer to see Mrs Swarthout. She had been in the city and went out with us. We only staid a few moments. Got back to Tacoma to get out on the 5:30 Taxi I did our packing after supper and we had a jolly evening all together. Wednesday October 11th 1916 We were up very early and left Art Robinsons at 6:45. We verily have had a good time with there friends. We left Tacoma at 8:15 and had a comfortable ride to North Galena. Maurice and family met us and after a ride around their beautiful little city went to their pleasant home five miles west of there. Through fine apple orchards. Visited in the evening and listened to Eugene play piano. Thursday October 12th 1916 We took a long Auto ride in forenoon to see wonderful dam and irrigating ditch. Spent the rest of day at home. Friday October 13th 1916 We went down town this morning and I got some more things out of the trunk. Then we took a ride up another valley. The afternoon at home. We went to a dinner in the evening given for a member of "The Jolly Bunch." There was a long table set the length of two rooms. We enjoyed the party very much.
