Saturday October 14th 1916 We were home all morning. Soon after dinner we went t ride up one of the valleys. The boys took the gun and they shot three Chinese Pheasants and after we got home Eugene got another one. The folks dressed them after supper. Will had a strange nervous spell in the evening. Sunday October 15th 1916 We went to church nearby in the morning. Will slept well and feels all right today. We rode on the Auto all afternoon. Will Maurice and I visited in the evening. Mrs C-- went over to the church to help the young folks with [Indian?] meeting Monday October 16th 1916 It was a beautiful day. I packed up our things and we both got our bath. At one oclock the folks took us in town. I repacked the trunk. We left then at 2:30. We had a nice trip to Spokane where we found a good place for the night right near the depot. Walked down town before bed-time. Tuesday October 17th 1916 We rested fine last night. Got breakfast and left for Minneapolis. Had a good place in a fine time. The scenery through the mountains was fine. It was morning on us at Butte. That city looked so pretty with the lights at 9:30. It is 21 years today Charlie died. Wednesday October 18th 1916 It was still snowing at Billings this morning and men were shoveling it from the streets. It kept it up most of the day as we journeyed across the plains of Montana and North Dakota. Went to bed early. weather cold.
