Tuesday December 12th 1916 Mary Woolf was out for the day. It was her 74th birthday and 18 years ago today we took Edith away from home for the last time. I did fancy work what spare time I had. Wednesday December 13th 1916 Cora came out at 9:30. Rob was out for his dinner but ate supper with his Mother and came for Cora about nine oclock. She helped me make a fancy bag. Thursday December 14th 1916 I was busy most of the forenoon doing baking and other house work. Did fancy work all my spare time. Mollie Stevens and Paul Helmich out for supper and spent the evening. a letter from The Reed girls today. Hattie went to Burlington today. Friday December 15th 1916 It has been growing colder for two days and this was terrible. We brought the oil stove in the dining room to do the cooking. I crocheted all day in the south room wrote Sue and Sallie in the evening about coming to Portsmouth awhile. Saturday December 16th 1916 I went down tone at 9:15. Was out to Mrs Emmons till eleven.. Did a lot of errands and got home at 1:30. I made a couple of aprons and did fancy work till bed time. Sunday December 17th 1916 I did house work most of the forenoon. I wrote letters to Lou Simpson, Louie Fultz, Lizzie Lindley, Mollie Fletcher, Alice Condon, Lizzie Duncan, Winnie Lawrence. I wrote 6 cards and did up packages for The folks at Milwaukee. Lou Simpson, Winnie, Lizzie Lindley, Millie Byington. Rob brought Hatties spread out. I want to put trimming on. I read some in the evening.
