Monday December 18th 1916 It was cold but we did a big washing and put part of the things out of doors. Will took my letters and packages to tome in the afternoon. I got the clothes of the line. I am still bust with things for Christmas. Tuesday December 19th 1916 I finished drying the clothes in the house and worked on Christmas things. Hattie got home from Burlington yesterday morning. weather very cold today. Wednesday December 20th 1916 I had a fire in the kitchen today. Did the ironing and some cooking. I went to town in afternoon and got my dress home from Mrs Emmons. Home at 4:30. Thursday December 21st 1916 I wrote cards and letters all forenoon and went down in afternoon to the reception given by Mrs Grant and Effie Stevens. Mrs. Robinson went with me The cars were late today as the students are going away Friday December 22nd 1916 I was at home at work all day. I finished a calico I am working for Cora. Did some other things and read in evening. Saturday December 25th 1916 I went down to Hattie with some of my things after an early dinner. We went to town in the afternoon. Fannie was with us. I met Will and we came home at 3:30. I sewed the lace on pillow cases for Fannie and read in the evening. weather cold.
