Wednesday February 21st 1917 I was in the room most of the forenoon and went to hear the band play in afternoon. We looked at the little boat when it came in and decided to go in by train. We called on The Mooreheads at "The St George" hotel in the evening. Thursday February 22nd 1917 I was in the room part of the forenoon. We had early dinner and went out to The Beach on the car and took a walk in the sand. Then called at Dunlaps. They took us a ride in the car and over home. We went to head the bank in the evening. The weather is delightful. Friday February 23rd 1917 We have talked with folks who came on the boat from St Augustine and are going up that way tomorrow. I was down town in the forenoon and we went to the concert in evening. Later I packed our thing and talked with the folks where we room. Saturday February 24th 1917 At nine oclock we started to St Augustine in a little boat on The Halifax river. I got a lunch to eat on the way. I met on the boat people who know Henry Bentley of [Warham?] and people who knew The Reeds at Portsmouth. We found Hotel accommodations at "the Ocean View" right near the landing rates $2.50 a day for meals too. Took a walk down town in the evening. Sunday February 25th 1917 We rode around the city early in forenoon. I wrote Hattie. After dinner went to the beach in street car. After listening to some music in the hotel parlor. walked down to The Ponce De Leon and into the lobby to hear the band. The public were welcome.
