Friday April 20th 1917 I washed curtains and a few other things in forenoon. I had some finishing in the cleaning to do in the lower story and ironed and out up curtains. It rained tonight Saturday April 21st 1917 Will and I went to town at 9:15. I went directly to Stillwells to select paper for the kitchen. Then to Getters to buy some new curtains. After that I met Will at the Auto show and later we had dinner together. I then went over the river. Stopped at Otts and was up to Hattie too. Later Rob brought me back to town and I came hone at 4:30. Sunday April 22nd 1917 I was at home all day and busy about the house till dinner time. I wrote four letters in the afternoon to Cousin Jen, Lydia, Ida & Birdie. The folks were Auto riding in afternoon. I read in evening and went to bed early. Monday April 23rd 1917 Not a pleasant day. I cut out my new white curtains after I did a lot of baking and work in the kitchen. I went to town at 4:15 to get new draperies for the openings between the dining and sitting room. I sewed in evening. Tuesday April 24th 1917 We both worked till four oclock in afternoon scraping paper from the kitchen wall. I then cleaned up the floor so we could have some supper and later Will & I went down to Ed [Roses?] store to the opening. We had a paper from Sue and Sallie Reed telling of Sam Reeds death a few days ago. It rained hard about nine oclock.
