Saturday June 16th 1917 I have not slept for two nights and feel wretched. I did the ironing and sewed some in afternoon. Will went to town and got me some medicine. I went to bed early. Sunday June 17th 1917 I was not able to be up. Hattie came out and later the Dr came. I slept most of the day. Hattie went home late in the afternoon. a pleasant day. Monday June 18th 1917 I slept again last night but feel very weak. Hattie and Birdie came out to get the dinner. I enjoyed eating mine. Will got out the material for the fence. I was up to get us a little supper. Tuesday June 19th 1917 I managed to get through the little work there was to do. The Hill boys began work on the fence today. It was 68 years today since Father and Mother arrived in Iowa City. Wednesday June 20th 1917 I did the work today and the folks came out for a call in the evening. William started to Allentown Penn this forenoon to become a member of the Ambulance Unit. Thursday June 21st 1917 I did a little baking and worked some on my spread. Tishie & Elaine came for a call and later Rob Hattie & Fannie came to take me a ride in the Auto. We went to Tiffen and then south and back by another road. I got us some supper and went to bed very early.
